Goth Barbie… Really?

Ya, A Goth Barbie!

Just when you think you have heard and seen all there was to do with Barbie, Mattel went and made sure that they also  made a Barbie for the Gothic Sub Culture. Back in 2008 Goth Barbie hit the shelves. Bringing with her many comments from the public both for and against the new Barbie design.

On many discussion Boards I have read some opinions that it was wrong to am different types of cultures to influential young girls. While at the same time other people posted that it was about time, and it wasn’t so much as trying to influence young children but to make goth Barbie theme dolls to the ones that are already part of the Goth sub culture.

What the naysayers fail to realize is that people have been customizing their Barbie Dolls for years. And that it is not really the little kids that are doing it.

Mattel just decided to jump on board the trend and make a profit for themselves. Can’t really Blame them. It just makes good business sense. As charlie sheen would say.. DUH.

Unfortunately the price for the Mattel made goth barbie will cost you around $70.00 and that is if you can still find them.

But don’t worry, If you can’t find one, you can always make one, that is if you are crafty.

There you can find a Goth Barbie that has been transformed from an ordinary Barbie doll. Or you might luck out and find an original Mattel one.

Generally they have been designed in such a way that it is almost impossible to recreate therefore making them a One Of A Kind. (OOAK)
